Merseburg, 13 June 2022.

We would like to announce a change within APK AG’s Supervisory Board.

As of 13 June 2022, Casper Frijns joined the Supervisory Board and was elected as chairman by his fellow board members.

During his extensive career as an industrial engineer, Casper Frijns has worked in the plastics industry for over forty years, including many years working for international corporations and start-ups in an advisory capacity and as a member of supervisory and advisory boards. In his work, he draws upon the experience gained in the management positions he has held at prominent global chemical companies, including BASF and Ciba-Geigy, where his activities included corporate expansion into new business sectors and markets as well as roll-outs of new processes.

“At APK, we are in the process of bringing our Newcycling® technology to scale internationally. We are in the midst of a transformation phase, and the next steps we take will be crucial to the long-term success of the company”, states Klaus Wohnig, APK’s Chairman and CEO. “Casper Frijns brings with him a wealth of international experience that will be of great benefit to APK and its leadership in successfully executing these steps.
At the same time, we would like to thank our previous Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Soeren Hein for his many years of active support and we are pleased that he will remain deputy chairman of the Supervisory Board”.

“I am greatly looking forward to working with the APK team to forge new paths in the circular economy and be able to close the loop in polyolefin recycling with our Newcycling® technology,” remarks Casper Frijns. “APK and their technologies are ripe for expansion and the world needs cutting-edge solutions for transforming plastic waste into recyclables that can be used to create new products”.
